I STRONGLY RECOMMEND USING ANOTHER PROPERTY MANAGER TO RENT FROM OR REPRESENT YOUR PROPERTY. I suspected bed bugs during my stay. I tried contacting PR over 5 times on the phone to discuss the problem with the Owner. The Owner refuses to take my phone calls, insist that I dispute in writing, leaves me no choice but to dispute with my credit card company yet THREATENS TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH CRESTED BUTTE POLICE against me if I do so! Save yourself the hassle should you run into any issues during your stay or if they manage your property and use a company that will talk with you to resolve any problems!

I have resisted writing this review but the Owner of PR leaves me no other option. After departing a property rented from PR, I suspected BED BUGS were the source of my itching and sleepless nights. Not being an expert on bed bugs, it took me a few days to put the puzzle pieces together so I did not contact PR until my departure. On retrospect while departing, it occurred to me that the bites seemed to primarily occur when my wife or I would fall asleep in an old recliner in the living room the last few days of our stay. After trying multiple times to speak to the owner of PR Property Management (many phone messages and email requests) to come to a mutually agreeable resolution, he would only respond to email, refused to take or return my calls and even THREATENED TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH MOUNT CRESTED BUTTE POLICE AGAINST ME (which would not be accepted per my follow up with Mount CB Police) for failure to pay for services rendered if I disputed the charges with my credit card company. I did not receive any bites before my stay in the home or after my departure and he even presented in a letter the notion that I infected the property! EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT RENTING FROM OR LISTING your property with this company. I believe that email is a poor communication method to resolve disputes and that most things can be worked out if people just talk but that is not an option with PR. PR did offer to refund one night however I believe a larger refund is due based on the sleepless nights and annoyance to deal with the problem including spending a whole vacation day after departing washing clothes and fumigating luggage before moving to our next vacation residence, then home. Unfortunately PR will not take my call to even talk about any other possible resolution.
I am torn if I should have named the actual residence I stayed in for this review and chose not to although I question my obligation to warn others of the potential infestation. Just know that it is a property managed by PR. I would feel badly if the PROPERTY OWNER WOULD LOSE INCOME BY CHOOSING TO LIST WITH PR Property Management and PR's poor handling of this situation. Perhaps the property owner is completely unaware of this situation.
Judge for yourself, please see posted photos. I do not claim to be an expert on bed bugs, I only have suspicion and through research suspect they are the culprit. I love visiting Crested Butte for the best skiing and MTB riding followed by incredible meals, evenings and stories with welcoming locals and business owners that will tell you (not hide) a better ride or ski run you should try the next day and realize their ability to live in CB is dependent on the tourists who visit. This has been my only, and hopefully last bad experience with a Crested Butte business owner. I will return and I look forward to the welcoming attitude that one receives in CB. Unfortunately on this trip it seems that I chose to do business
with the one unreasonable, unreachable, police charge threatening, apparently too busy , too important guy in Crested Butte to answer a phone call.
This occurred the week of July 4, 2012. I will update this review if I receive a reasonable follow up from the Owner.
