This location benefits from the recent renovations that B and N have been applying to new stores and slowly to current locations nationwide over the past year. If you have been to the new Woodridge location, pocture that location but larger with better parking. Instead of the long aisles of narrow passages with books surrounding you right and left, this location now has taller book shelves with more breaks and cul de sacs, if you will, where you will find your books. These changes make it easier we to navigate through the store and you'll never feel trapped in a particular section. And, you can see through the store with better lines of sight.

You'll still find the coffee shop with ample seating and conveniently placed to bring books to peruse before purchasing. You'll also still find the same kid friendly rising area conplete with logo table although without the Fog and Tooad stahe which has become a staple at the older locations. There's less green and tan and more modern Grey and brick burgundy and it provides an updated but same quality experience. Right now, this is my preferred B and N location.

Mostly, I enjoy Barnes and Noble, but this visit was awful. I ordered an apple crisp beverage hot, but when it came, something was burnt tasting. I couldn't drink it. Then I was going to buy some magazines and 2 pens. I was in line behind a person getting a B&N card, so that took some time. I was looking at some books, so I waved the man and his 2 sons around me. So they spent time talking to the cashier about their purchase, and she talked too. So I finally got to checkout, and I noticed the cap of one pen was missing. When I took the cashier, she said I could go get another pen and she would put my things aside. The pens were about 5 steps from checkout, but she took the next customer. This lady's card had just expired, so they had to figure out how to renew it. At this point I had been waiting at least 20 minutes. So I gave up, told her I was going, and left. I think the store employee should get the needed merchandise or at least ask me where it was located and then she would know how much time I needed. I was very disappointed. It certainly did not give me a good evening.

Feels very spacious and bright. It is on one level but it is well done.
Easy to spot your favorite area. I was in the mood for classics and found a cute Jane Austen Illustrated book with recipes.

The kids area has a table with lego duplo for your munchkins to play while you are browsing around.

Of course there’s plenty of space to get your coffee

My family and I are so happy Barnes & Noble is in Reston! We stopped by today and love the large selection, including an awesome children's section, Manga, nonfiction, cookbooks etc. There's something for everyone. Also the cafe has seating to enjoy a nice beverage and pastry.

I am happy that Barens & Noble has been returned to the Reston area. There had been one before but closed around 2012 or so.
It is well managed, with nice store associates, and plenty of options for book lovers.
The location is very good, with plenty of parking spaces available, and there is a Starbucks coffee shop inside.
However, it is not a real Starbucks, since the baristas are Barnes and Noble employees,
So your app or many of your Starbucks options are not valid here, but you will get the same type of foods and beverages as a typical Starbucks store.

Beautiful store with lots of inventory. Nice employees too. If you like to read, you should def check it out. You can also get a coffee and/or pastry. Classy store!

Lately it feels rare to find one person with good customer service (and by good it just means, pleasant, positive demeanor) in a store or restaurant. To find a place where everyone you interact with is pleasant, knowledgeable, raising the bar at every possible interaction, it’s a rarity that seems reserved only for if you’re paying top dollar. Think fine dining.

This Barnes & Noble delivered with great service, a very clean environment, and now it’s a bookstore worth the journey to Reston from DC. I never would’ve thought that from a Barnes & Noble, but I actually cannot wait to go back.
